Removals from across Derbyshire.
A regional-origin operator for international moves out of the Peak District + East Midlands. Four corridors — France, Italy, Spain, Portugal — all routed via the M1 south to the Channel. Mixed-demographic, Midlands-honest register.
Derbyshire → France · Italy · Spain · Portugal.
France via the Eurotunnel or Dover ferry. Italy overland (with sea-leg for Sicily and Sardinia). Spain overland or via a UK-to-Spanish-port sea-leg. Portugal overland or via sea-leg, including Madeira. The right routing comes from the survey.
Derbyshire to France
France is the closest of our four destinations from the East Midlands. The road from Derbyshire feeds south on the M1 and the A38, joins the M25, and reaches the Channel at the Eurotunnel or the Dover ferry. We cover the working stone villages, the Parisian flat-moves, the Loire river towns, the Provençal hill country.
- Stone-village France and the rural west
- Working southern France
Derbyshire to Italy
Italy is our medium-haul corridor. M1 south to the M25, Eurotunnel or Dover, south through France, into Italy via the Alps or the Mediterranean coast. We cover the hill-town rural Italy, the working northern cities, the family-property south, and the island moves to Sicily and Sardinia.
- Tuscan hill country and Umbria
- Northern Italian cities and working districts
Derbyshire to Spain
Spain is our long-haul corridor. By road via the Eurotunnel and through France, or by sea-leg via a UK port to Bilbao or Santander. We cover the working Costa coasts, the inland market towns, the Spanish regional cities, and the island moves to the Balearics.
- Costa Blanca working coast
- Costa del Sol and working Andalucía
Derbyshire to Portugal
Portugal is our longest mainland corridor. M1 south through France and Spain into Portugal, or sea-leg from a UK port to a Portuguese port. We cover the working Algarve coast, the Lisbon and Setúbal corridor, the central and northern Portuguese cities, and the island moves to Madeira and the Azores.
- Algarve working coast and lifestyle moves
- Lisbon and Setúbal city corridor
Where we work out of.
Derbyshire Removals is a regional-origin operator. The catchment runs from Derby city (DE1–DE24) and the engineering-corridor surroundings through Chesterfield and the northern market-town belt (S40–S45), up through Buxton on the spa-town high (SK17), across the Peak District through Matlock and Bakewell (DE4 / DE45), out to Glossop on the high-Peak west (SK13), and down through Belper, Ashbourne and the southern market towns (DE5 / DE6 / DE7).
We also coordinate moves originating elsewhere in the East Midlands and the Pennines where the destination falls in one of our four corridors. The main UK origins we work from beyond Derbyshire itself are below.
- London
- Manchester
- Birmingham
- Leeds
- Sheffield
- Nottingham
- Edinburgh
-
Derby city centre, Allestree, Mickleover, Spondon, Burnaston corridor — the urban catchment of the city and its engineering-corridor surroundings.
-
Chesterfield market town with its Crooked Spire, Brimington, Staveley, Dronfield edge — the working market-town belt of the north.
-
Buxton with its Crescent and Pavilion Gardens, the established-affluent spa-town demographic. Crossings into the High Peak.
-
Matlock and Matlock Bath in the Derwent Valley, Bakewell on the Wye — the rural Peak District market-town heart of the county.
-
Glossop, Hadfield, the western high-Peak villages on the edge of the Greater Manchester catchment.
-
Belper, Ashbourne, Ilkeston, Long Eaton — the southern market-town belt running down to the Nottingham edge.
How the routes run.
All four corridors start the same way: M1 south from the Derbyshire catchment (A38 from Derby city), down to the M25, then to the Eurotunnel at Folkestone (M20) or the Dover ferry (A2 / M2). For the longer Iberian destinations, a sea-leg from a UK port to Bilbao or Santander is the alternative to the long French + Spanish road haul.
We don't promise transit times. The road network is the geographic fact; the actual move timing depends on the load, the destination, the season, the chosen crossing, customs processing on both sides, and receiving-end coordination.
If we are the wrong operator, we will say so.
Derbyshire works the East Midlands honestly. Several move-patterns or origins are better served by sister sites in the network. If yours is one of them, we will redirect rather than book a stretched job.

A short brief is enough to get started. The first reply is normally within a working day or two — an acknowledgement and the questions we need to put a written quote together.
